It All Began With an Impossible Task
In 2022, seh STUDIO — then a newly founded company — single-handedly pulled off Taichung's first city criterium in just 53 days. Road use permits, sponsor recruitment, traffic volunteer coordination, portable restrooms, ambulances — everything was a first, and every hurdle nearly broke us.
A week before race day, the sound system broke, the traffic cones went missing, and the organizer crashed and broke his collarbone during the final test run. But when 192 riders sprinted at full speed around the 1.3 km closed circuit, and the crowd's roar echoed through Taichung's District 13 — we knew we had done it.
The day after the race ended, the feeling only grew stronger. That was the moment it hit us: this stage belongs to everyone in Taichung. Not just to race — but to help build the race together.
That's where the TCU Taichung City Criterium began. Not one person's arena — but a whole city's passion.
